The General Services Administration (GSA) site is a 13-acre, federally owned parcel of land along Greenough Boulevard near the border between Watertown and Cambridge. Following World War II, the Army used the property to store equipment and burn uranium waste. The site is currently undergoing a remedial investigation of the environmental impacts of the hazardous materials once used there. This investigation will form the basis for the eventual cleanup of the property. The ultimate objective is to see the GSA property restored to its natural wetlands function and serve as a passive recreation site for residents of all ages.
