Hecht Recieves Sierra Club Endorsement

Jon Hecht adds to his list of endorsements

Recognizing his strong commitment to the environmental and conservation issues, the Sierra Club of Massachusetts has endorsed Jon Hecht, a Democratic candidate in the primary race to succeed Rachel Kaprielian to be the next State Representative.

After interviewing all of the candidates, the Massachusetts Sierra Club’s Political Chair Phillip Sego, informed Hecht that he had received the organization’s support.

"Jon Hecht has had a strong lifelong and personal commitment to the environment," said Sego. "His work on environmental issues and policies has impressed us greatly. We need his skills to protect the interests of Cambridge, Watertown and the entire state, and we look forward to working with him once elected."

The environment, and the many related issues such as the creation of renewable energy, the need to expand and parklands and recreation space, and the effort to control greenhouse gas emissions, have always been a prominent part of Hecht’s both public and private life.

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of such an esteemed organization," stated Hecht. "The Sierra Club made such a thorough effort in getting to know all of the candidates' positions and their work on the environment - I am thrilled to have been identified as the Sierra Club's candidate of choice."

The Sierra Club is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization with over 25,000 members statewide.
